John Duncanson is renowned for creating capable and comfortable Bluewater Cruisers which boast excellent sailing performance in all conditions. The Duncanson 35 was one of the most popular models with many being cruised extensively, including full circumnavigations of the globe. With ease of handling, they are also ideal as a first yacht or family cruiser, with excellent accommodation for extended cruising. 'Aphrodite II' is an excellent example of the design, and one of the best Duncanson 35's we have come across. Originally purchased by a prominent family in Northern Tasmania, the vessel was completed with a superb timber interior fitout. The current owner purchased the vessel in 1987 and has enjoyed family cruising, social racing, and single handed sailing over his 38 year ownership. During this time he has maintained the vessel to a very high standard. In 2000 the hull was stripped back and re-epoxied, and has been antifouled annually (with the most recent antifoul done in March 2025. The accommodation is ideal for cruising with family and friends and features a generous double V berth forward, the dinette converts to a double in the saloon with single settee berth opposite, and single quarter berth aft. The package is complete with a private bathroom with manual toilet and vanity.

Outside, the cockpit is well set up for easy sailing or relaxing in your favourite anchorage. Complete with a spray dodger for protection, and cockpit cushions, this is a great space to enjoy the views. Sailing is a breeze with the furling headsail, mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, wheel steering, and self tailing primary winches. There is easy access forward around the wide side decks, up to the electric anchor winch on the bow for hassle free stays at anchor.

This vessel is well powered by a NEW 2013 Yanmar 30HP Diesel engine with only 275hrs on the clock! This provides reliable and economical cruising at 5 knots, and has been serviced annually.
