Lagoon 380 One of the best cruising catamarans in her class

Meerkat was purchased by her current owners in 2021. She is hull number 61 of 1,000 manufactured.

Meerkat was delivered new into New South Wales in 2001 and then sold to a Perth local where she was sailed back to WA around 2003. She has completed numerous Abrolhos and Ningaloo journeys including over 2,500nm with her current owners following her 2021 refit.

Until recenty, the L380 was surpassed only by the Lagoon 42 as the most popular catamaran in the world and it's very apparent why they were so successful. They are a very easy boat to sail with all sheets, reefing lines and main halyards leading back to the cockpit. They sail particularly well for a fixed keel vessel, plus their internal volume is second to none!

The L380 boats excellent head room, volumous hulls and luxurious queen size berths in each rear cabin. Meerkat is an owners version layout with full size shower stall in the forward bathroom, vanity, plenty of hanging space and loads of ventilation. Interior finishes are gloss timber and white fibreglass - very easy to maintain and durable. Her galley is on the main bridge deck providing an amazing view and is the centre of the entertaining area.

The vertical saloon windows provide a distinctive Lagoon look minimising direct sunlight inside the boat to reduce heat while providing excellent forward vision.

There is very little on this vessel which has not been replaced, renewed or serviced. Over $150,000 spent in recent years culminating in a full Victron lithium installation in late 2024 making her a self sufficient cruiser.

Engines have done just over 2,200 hours and from what I have learnt, they are good for up to 8,000 hours. In 2021 they were removed from the boat and tidied up including new hoses, heat exchanger service and repaint.

Her mast was removed and inspected. All running and standing was rigging replaced. New LED navigation and spreader lights were installed together with new internal mast wiring.

Internally Meerkat's upholstery was replaced with new Sunbrella fabric in keeping with the current model Lagoon. Saloon curtains were also replaced. Every power outlet was replaced with new Australian Standard outlets which include both USB A and C connections. Cabin reading lights were renewed with high quality LED with USB A connections.

Toilets were replaced with quiet Planus electric units with larger than normal bowls. She includes a new 100L gravity discharge blackwater tank. Original electronics were renewed with B&G multifunction displays, auto pilot, sounder, radar, VHF marine radio, AIS and wireless wind anemometer.

Meerkat's sails were renewed in 2021 provided by Sailing Solution in Sydney and made by Tasker Sails - They include a spinnaker with snuffer, code 'O' with top down furler, genoa on brand new Facnor furler, and main sail. Boom bag and lazy jack lines renewed.

She will be available for inspection at Fremantle Sailing Club on Saturday 29th March.
