Description: Catana 431 Owners Version - Australian Registered
Based on the innovative and highly successful Catana 471 model, the Catana 431 design features include asymmetrical hulls, tulip shaped bows, daggerboards for improved windward performance, and extremely high bridgedeck clearance. The 431 is small enough to be handled by a couple, easy to reef and dock, yet large enough to handle big seas and turn nice speeds in most conditions under both sail and power. She seldom slaps or pounds, a powerful rig to push her along in light breezes, dual daggerboards that enable her to point smartly, and properly vacuum bagged hulls. Catana's motto is that an owner's dream and Catana's ambition is to have the perfect balance of safety, performance and comfort in a design that can take care of you as much as you care for it. Hulls, decks and bulkheads are built entirely of sandwich construction under vacuum using Vinylester resin and a core of PVC foam. Twaron aramid fibres are used throughout the interior skin of the sandwich. The bulkheads are all reinforced with carbon fibres on both sides, fully laminated to the hulls, the deck, the coach roof, the cockpit, and all the surrounding structures. The hull/deck joint is glued and completely laminated with several bi-axial materials.

One of the major attractions of catamarans is the impressive accommodations they offer when compared to monohull models of the same length. This Catana 431 offers the entire starboard hull to an owner's suite with a king-sized berth aft and a very large head and shower forward separated by storage lockers, a washer and a set of six drawers with a small seat at base of bed and storage below. The port hull has double cabins forward and aft with a head and shower in the middle.
