A classic Moreton Bay cruiser with great features and a practical and functional layout. Anchorline is proud to present the 48´ Les Thomas built 'Saumarez' to the market.
When the owners of Saumarez purchased her from Anchorline Yacht Brokers, they knew that she was ideal for exploring our waterways and giving great experiences for their family. Since acquiring Saumarez they have had many amazing voyages and have put their considerable boating knowledge and love of timber cruisers into upgrading Saumarez and ensuring that she is cruising for many decades to come.
Built by Les Thomas in Brisbane and launched in 1977, Saumarez has proven to be a very capable and seaworthy vessel and recent improvements have brought her into a level very rarely seen in similar vessels.
Powered by a single 127hp Gardner engine, Saumarez cruises economically at 8 knots and is equipped with a Side-Power bow thruster to assist with maneuvering. Set up for extended cruising, Saumarez carries 4,000 litres of fuel, 1,000 litres of water and is equipped with a desalinator, 11kw generator, and an inverter for when your cruising in remote locations. She also features a set of stainless steel static stabilizers for use at anchor and she's air conditioned in the aft accommodation.
Saumarez is perfect for cruising with family and friends with a spacious saloon, large galley, ample refrigeration, functional entertaining areas (a massive aft deck) and accommodation for 7 onboard. She also has a great accommodation layout with two double berths aft and four single berths in the bow. There is nicely appointed on deck toilet and shower, entered of the starboard side deck.
Below deck you'll love her engine room which has been extensively upgraded, and if you're looking for a vessel with storage, the lazarette is sensational. There is also the added ability of carrying two tenders with a a very nice set of stainless steel davits on the transom and a dinghy cradle on the roof. Access to the roof is via a large hatch in the aft awning, providing easy access to the tender, life raft, and lines for the stabilizers.
This classic Moreton Bay cruiser is one of our personal favorites and she is ready to take you cruising south for a summer of boating in Tasmania or to tropical north Queensland for the winter boating season. An inspection is highly recommended, won't disappoint, and is available by prior appointment. Please contact our office for further details.
