The Amel 60 cruising yacht on her global debut won the coveted "European Yacht of the Year 2020" which is a testament to its quality, performance and luxury. This new design 60-foot sloop encompasses the spirit and adventure from past Amel yachts with modern high-tech design for comfort, ease of sailing and performance. The new Amel 60 has a carbon mast with electric furling sails, all controlled from the centre cockpit which is protected by a solid windscreen and hard top canopy. The Amel 60 gives total freedom at sea for couples, families or adventurers to discover the world in the highest level of safety and comfort.
The Amel 60 is designed with a spacious layout providing a large owner's stateroom and ensuite aft, two double cabins and ensuites forwards. The large saloon has a dining table, settee, chart-table and a well-equipped gourmet galley. A selection of timbers and upholsteries are available to please every Amel 60 buyer's tastes as well as many options to suit blue water cruising or a global circumnavigation.
The centre cockpit design with a hard top canopy features a solid windscreen and sliding sunroof with can be fully enclosed to provide excellent weather protection. The cockpit is the central entertaining area with a folding table and seating for dining, relaxing or enjoying life at sea.
Sailing performance is assured with a carbon mast, 170 sqm Hydranet sails, twin rudders and an Olivier Racoupeau designed hull, all easily handled by one person. The new Amel 60 is propelled by a Volvo 175hp engine and shaft drive. The Amel 60 has a central engine room housing all machinery providing a soundproof and watertight seal to the boat's interior. The Amel 60 has several watertight bulkheads throughout the yacht.
