History of DRAGONFLY Trimarans

Quorning Boats ApS was founded in 1967 by Borge Quorning and his brother Bent.

In 1968, hull number 1 of the Dragonfly Trident 28 was launched. The company's sole purpose was to build Dragonfly Trimarans.

Since the foundation, Dragonfly Trimarans has been awarded with a wide range of international and national awards, due to our focus on innovation, performance, design, functionality and high-quality products.

A huge part of the Dragonfly DNA is the SWING-WING system. Which was introduced in 1989. The SWING-WING system makes it possible to fold a Dragonfly within a few minutes to fit into a normal marina berth.

Today, Quorning Boats employs around 40 people and produces around 40 custom-built Dragonfly Trimarans each year. This is a solid platform that allows us to dream and plan. The company has established itself as a major player and trendsetter worldwide when it comes to the production of trimarans. The Dragonfly is renowned in the world of sailing, in not only Denmark, but around the world, and with the ability to look ahead, we are heading for new horizons and future successes.

In 1995 Borge's son Jens Quorning took over the business, and one day 3rd generation and Jens' son Peter Quorning will continue the business as he is now a full-time part of the Dragonfly team.
