Bessie has been owned by 3 families who have used her to learn how to sail. The previous 2 have sold her on and moved to a larger live aboard vessel and now its our turn. She is a lovely vessel, easy to use, safe to sail and is kitted with all the equipment of a larger vessel. We have loved her and learned so much that we can now use on a larger live aboard vessel. These Macgregor vessels are the perfect vessel to start on. When the wind blows and the rain falls and every other non live aboard yacht owner is sweating about his mooring, his bilge pump, bits blowing off or even the yacht sinking, the Macgregor is safely on her trailer, covered by a tarp and sitting safely inside our carport. Shes sits behind a locked fence and ready for me to climb on and check without even leaving home. Should I want to take her to say, the Whitsundays, it doesn't take 3 weeks and excellent weather to get there, she can be hitched up and towed on a road trip for 2 or 3 days and used as a caravan on the way. She was built in late 2007 and in early 2008 she was put on a Macgregor aluminium trailer made for her in 2008. She was then shipped to Australia and launched later that year. She has spent most of her life sailing in Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens (and when shes not, sitting high, dry and safe on her trailer). Macgregor yachts are extensively described and instructions are provided on YouTube, all workshop manuals and after sales service and factory spare parts available at https://macgregorsailors. Com/resources. Html She has the following extra bits:

Trailer
Bessie sits on a NSW Registered Macgregor single axle trailer manufactured and fitted at the US Factory. The trailer towing coupling was upgraded to Australian standards and a hydraulic braking system was added. She has original width and tail lights and we have added a dual tail light bar to give better visability of tail lights when towing at night. I also added a self made mast support to prevent the very common mast vibration during towing in Macgregor (and all other trailer sailors) yachts.
