2016 Foster 10 by Ned Trewartha - " Bellela"
Lying : Goolwa SA
The Foster 10 is as much a work of art to display in your home or office as a boat to be on water and used!
Designed by Bill Foster in Tasmania in the 80's for his daughters 21st (Fortunate girl!)
Since then, it has become the favourite vehicle of many traditional boat builders to show their skill.
" Bellela" was beauitfully hand made by Master Wood Craftsmen Ned Trewartha of Woodbridge Tasmania.
Ned is famous as much for his magnificent and unique furniture as for his boats!
In fact 2 of his Foster 10, s are on display in the Tasmanian Maritime Museum!
Constructed predominantly of Huon Pine and other classic Tasmanian timbers.
Huon Pine is a highly restricted wood, only natural fall timbers can be used.
Usually aged from 300 years ( a youngster tree ) to 3000 years old!
It has unique qualities of light weight, being extremely aethsetic and containing oils which ensure its resistance to rot and parasites!
The boat comes with a custom made Dunbier trailer, spars, sail, oars and custom fit covers.
This is a very special and unique boat not for some, but for a handful of people who appreciate true craftsmanship and beauty!
Priced well below current replacement cost.
