Bertram Caribbean 26

This boat started its life as a 23 flybridge, with a pod mounted outboard.... By the time I got my hands to it the previous owner had this vessel set up for a blue water marlin/fishing boat. The previous owner pulled out of the project after outlaying the funds to gut the boat and extend the transom! This is when I purchased the boat and started my journey....... I purchased the boat in November of 2019, the vessel was still sitting with the boat builder/shipwright James Kirkman (Busselton Shipwright services). Therefore made it quiet easy for me to explain what I wanted and having known James for quiet sometime I knew he was the right man for the job.
I'm a keen spearfisherman and love the simplicity of commercial style ab boats and the toughness of glassed/solid wave breakers, so I based the build around boats such as (Cootacraft, Edencraft, white pointer, camcraft) all very popular eastern state boat builders, building iconic wave jumping trailer boats.
The construction of the boat itself excluding fit out took 12 months, James worked tirelessly on fairing and smoothing this boat to make it what it is today, I always stated I wanted it took look like it has just been knocked out of the mould. I appointed Benj from Southbound boats to build me a tri-axle boat trailer with roller bunks, the trailer is very solid and tows really well.
The complete fit out of motors and electrical was done by Midway marine.... She runs twin 225 Mercury's in polar white, which gets her up over 50 knots when WOT, and cruised at 32-34 knots. Runs a 16 inch Simard, 3in1,1kw in hull transducer, S5100 module. I've also had a SIMRAD auto pilot installed for long journey's to the islands, along with wet sounds stereo system. Drum winch, Zip wakes, Deck lights, bilge pumps, deck wash etc etc, all the standard stuff you come to expect when building an all-out boat...
The boat was built to my specifications as mentioned, however due to having a young family and a relocation from up north, I simply choose not to use my boat as often as I once did. Therefore it's time that someone else can/will enjoy this boat as much as I have....
