William Fife 36 Linear Rater Bermudan sail rig

"EUN NA MARA"
This Classic Bermudan rigged racing yacht is seeking a new custodian.

Designed for the 1905 International Rule by William Fife III, she was built at Berrys Bay, Sydney by Watty MacFarlane, and commenced an enviable career throughout Australia, winning the 1910 Sayonara Cup in Melbourne and winning all races in Tasmania as tune up races on the way.
Eun Na Mara ( "Bird of the Sea" in Scottish Gaelic) has raced consistently in Sydney, Melbourne, Tasmania and Perth throughout her many years.
In WA she became a favourite winning numerous Fremantle to Bunbury races, and Cape Naturaliste Return races, plus raced several times Fremantle to Geraldton.

Upon leaving Swan River around 1980, she was sold to a new owner at Royal Brighton YC (Vic) where she had already spent many years under sail number "B1" Again under the famous "B1" sail number, she returned to competitive racing and was trucked to Hamilton Island where she stunned the elite of yachting in 2001, winning the Australian IRC Championship against the 'big guns' of Aussie yacht racing.

In defending her 2001 Australian title in 2002 in Adelaide, she was leading the field into the last race until loss of rudder.

Purchased by the current owner and trucked to Perth in 2014, Eun Na Mara underwent a massive reconstruction by top class wooden boat shipwright, with new bow and stern, removal of all steel and Ali parts, new cockpit, new teak decking, and brilliant mahogany brightwork throughout.

Eun Na Mara is raced every week at SoPYC, and regularly is placed against all comers.

Recently, her diesel motor was replaced with 10KW electric power unit with 100 amp hour Lithium battery (48V system) all designed and installed by Electric Drive Engineering.

Eun Na Mara is fitted with 2 chart plotters, wind speed, boat speed and electronic compass instruments.
Many spares, incl Ali boom, mainsail, headsail, 3 spinnakers, two electric winches, 2-bladed propeller, and spinnaker poles for mast lowering are included.

Fairlie Yachts (UK) have supplied a full set of all the original plans from 1906 design phase and the 1931 Bermudan rig change. These are also available, plus a large collection of historical information for the new owner.

Eun Na Mara will be sold to her new owner with a complete Marine Survey from mid 2024. As a result of the Survey, all through-hull fittings were totally replaced to prepare her for a failed sale during 2024. Due to age and health issues of the current owner she is now offered for outright sale, or partnership.

Many hundreds of photographs and videos of the history, racing, and restoration are available to serious purchasers.
