The Viking 30 is a classic racer/cruiser designed by the legendary Ben Lexcen.
Made in Perth, hand laid GRP and very solid construction.
These yachts were popular Half Ton racing yachts and this boat has raced from Darwin to Ambon and also raced in a few Brisbane - Gladstone races.
More recently it has been used as a comfortable Family Cruiser and only raced in Twilights.
The sails are in good condition, and the 2 spinnakers look to have had very little use.
The engine is a Yanmar 20HP and starts first time every time.
The timber deck is lovely underfoot and in good condition; it is secured to a sealed GRP deck underneath and seems watertight.
The boat has a dorade (a deck ventilation device that lets air in but not water from wind/waves) and also 3 relatively new hatches.
The rudder is transom-mounted and protected by a skeg.
