This superb Van de Stadt 47' Samoa design bluewater passage-maker is the realisation of a single-minded vision, and the product of sophisticated design and exceptional Australian craftsmanship. She offers the performance and comfort required to navigate anywhere on the globe. Designed by E. G. Van de Stadt and Partners of Holland, and constructed in 1995 by legendary alloy yacht builder Greg Brown she is a stylish, fast, spacious and safe world cruiser. She offers comfortable internal and external areas while at anchor and underway, making her suitable for all climates. She was designed and built to cruise worldwide, from the low to the extremely high latitudes. Her onboard systems have been designed for ease of operation by a couple. The Izuzu 4BD1 81 hp engine (installed new in 2001) coupled to a Max-Prop feathering three blade propeller gives a considerable range under power. She offers superb performance under sail, averaging 8 knots+ on passages and is incredibly stable and comfortable on all points of sail. Her fuel load of 1000 litres, and water storage capacity of 700 litres plus watermaker, allows her to embark on long passages with ease. She has been strongly constructed, however her fine lines are accentuated by the fairness of her hull. She has been fitted out to high standards, and her internal joinery work gives a feeling of warmth and strength usually only found on much larger yachts. Her generously proportioned accommodation makes for easy full time living aboard. Her design features a spacious amidships cockpit with hard dodger which can either be open to the fair weather, or fully enclosed for comfort and protection if required. She offers an easily handled rig, with all working sails furling, and the main operated by an electric winch, with most lines running back to the cockpit. She is equipped for long-range live aboard bluewater cruising in absolute safety, style and comfort.

Accommodation
Coming down from the large cockpit via the three timber companionway stairs, the internal volume and layout are a standout feature for this yacht. The galley is to port and you have the full sized nav station to starboard. This area has all the electronics and nav gear at hand and storage lockers throughout. Forward from here and to starboard are two swivel mounted lounge chairs with a fixed timber table between. Lockers below and behind seating here. Opposite here is the large highly polished timber saloon table surrounded by a u-shapped settee arrangement with seating for six. Book storage between lockers behind settee. All upholstery is in good condition and storage lockers abound. General feel here is a rich and warm ambience and with the white coach-roof and some internal panelling, natural lighting from the oversized windows brings the featured timber-work to life. Teak and holly sole throughout. Forward through to the owners suite, the double berth is to port with large book shelving outbound and above berth. Opposite here are lockers, shelving, drawers, bench-top and a nice settee for those times when privacy is required. Eight opening deck hatches throughout the yacht more than assist with the movement of air through the yacht but these are accompanied by 12v electric fans. Forward through into owners ensuite, Washing machine and head are to port and vanity with mirror and lockers to starboard. Emergency treads lead up out through the large deck hatch for safety in this forward section of the yacht. Forward again into the stand alone shower compartment and again on into anchor locker reached by a large opening access hatch below decks.
Heading back through the yacht the second head/shower compartment is to starboard behind the Nav station. This also has a dedicated shower compartment along with vanity and lockers. Aft of here is the starboard cabin featuring a double below and single over if needed. This can be used as a large storage area for the guests. The port cabin features a single below and single over currently being used for storage. Access to the huge rear lazarette is via a hatch at the rear of the cabin when you are at sea or via the opening deck hatch to port behind the helm. The cockpit has a removable timber table while underway or fully deployed while at anchor. Cockpit cushions here make whiling the miles away a very relaxing pastime for all aboard. She sleeps seven with two x doubles and three x singles. Transiting around the wide decks is virtually unhindered from the cockpit forward to bow. Opening stainless steel boarding ladders are fixed to rail both port and starboard for ease of access and there is the stainless steel swim ladder fixed to the transom scoop.
