Astro is a WA-built, Holman and Pye-designed UFO 34, a legendary cruiser/racer known for its smooth and stable ride, offshore durability, and excellent sailing performance, with a comfortable cruising speed of approximately 6 knots under sail. Designed with both families and solo sailors in mind, this boat offers a comfortable and well-laid-out interior, making it an excellent choice for coastal cruising, Rotto getaways, and extended offshore passages. With a spacious yet manageable layout, Astro is easily sailed with a group or single-handed, aided by its autopilot, which provides easy course-keeping and auto-tacking for longer trips. Well-placed self-tailing winches and a thoughtfully designed cockpit contribute to a safe & easy sailing experience. The generous saloon, functional galley, and well-sized berths ensure comfort for up to six people.
Fitted with a reliable Volvo Penta D1-30 (30HP) diesel engine with low hours, recently serviced with an oil and filter change completed in January 2025, and equipped with a sail drive and a 3-blade folding prop, she is both efficient and easy to manoeuvre under power. The single-spreader masthead sloop rig is equipped with a roller furling headsail and slab-reefing mainsail, ensuring ease of handling. The standing rigging was replaced in 2021.
