Description: Oceanic 42 - Jack Savage Design
Dancer is a design created by Jack Savage as a fast cruising yacht with a solid fibreglass hull and an encapsulated (not bolt on) lead filled fin keel drawing 1.8 m for stability upwind and deep skeg hung rudder for absolute control in any conditions. Her moderate 3.8m beam makes her an easily driven hull so she easily reaches at 7-8 kts. The weather protected deep centre cockpit minimises movement at sea and the solid dodger is a haven on passage. Many of these designs have circumnavigated the world doing 150 + mile days effortlessly.

Dancer has been long term cruised between Townsville and Hobart by a husband and wife for the past three years. Well set up for shorthanded sailing, she has provided a safe (and dry) platform for exploring Australia's beautiful East Coast. She has also been regularly sailed solo including a two week passage from Townsville to Brisbane and a recent trip to Bundaberg and Hervey Bay. Current owners are from WA and looking to relocate back there next year - they are genuinely interested in selling Dancer but may also consider sailing back to WA over the top if there are no keen buyers.

Dancer has sailed internationally with previous owners and still maintains International Registration. Last liftout and antifoul was in Tasmania in 2023.

Remarks
Dancer has had the original hard top extended to give the cockpit full cover. The extended hardtop has a see-through in it that can be covered to keep out the sun or left completely open to see the sails.
The cockpit seats have been widened to make the seating more comfortable. There are full cushions for the cockpit and even in normal to rough conditions the cockpit is dry.
There are clears that can be lowered for full cockpit protection in inclement weather or passage making. There are breezeway/ shade covers that can be lowered for mosquitoes or other insects.
The main saloon seats have been widened for sleeping when on passage. There are lee clothes for all appropriate bunks.
Dancer has two steering wheels. One is the original full wheel with leather binding on the circumference and is not usually used. This wheel is stored in the aft cabin and is very easily accessed. The second wheel is only about a 40 degree quadrant and is the wheel that is generally used. The use of the quadrant allows more room in the cockpit as the large wheel is not in the way.
