Large volume proven bluewater cruising ketch, cutter rigged, rare 3 cabin version just had 6 month refit.
These vessels are built as solid as they come and the hull shape is modelled off Nordic fishing boats from the North Sea.
I am the 4th owner, 1st owner lived in Chicago and sailed the Great Lakes in Summer, 2nd owner
refitted vessel in 2010 with new Yanmar engine, electric winches, Selden mast and Leisure Furl boom amongst other things and sailed from NW coast of USA to Melbourner via the Pacific Islands (still has detailed log onboard). 3rd senior owner sailed single handed around Australia the last 7 years or so on his own and I am the 4th owner and bought her in early May. Out of water survey report available from before I began refit.
Sailed her from Hervey Bay to Bundaberg in June to slip, changed majority of through hull fittings to Trudesign, new sterntube cover and packing, a coat of tiecoat then 2 coats of International Ultra 2 hard antifoul. Adequately powered with 140hp Yanmar that has just had new starter, alternator and water pump rebuild will motor all day at 8 knots if need be. Then sailed down to Mooloolaba to crane out masts to fit new running and standing rigging completed by Quinrig.
3 cabin, 2 x heads, twin helm 360 degree view from inside pilothouse and outside on raised aft deck, 3 seating areas each seats 6-8 (2 inside 1 outside), teak decks, gunwales, rails and interior.
2 x Jabsco electric head (1 brand new never been used in master suite), new plumbing pipework, 3 x showers all hot and cold water plumbed. Salt water deck wash and salt water to galley sink. Full suite of marine electronics and a rare 3 cabin version with a massive master cabin with Queen size island bed with seperate ensuite shower and toilet areas to keep the boss happy even have original purchase order with cost of extras ordered from dealer 163,000 euros on top of the 406,000 euro standard price.
Still needs a bit of cosmetic work to bring her back to former glory as these Finnish motorsailers are renown for their qualty of finishing and woodwork but all the important (in my view) work has been done. I was going to do the cosmetic bits and pieces back in Perth over this Summer where I have a shed but ran out of time to sail her back so have her penned in Hervey Bay for 6 months (pen fees paid up until middle of April) over Summer but not feeling great about being over the other side of the country and leaving her there for 6 months so if she sells she sells.

Remarks
This is a large volume solid proven blue water vessel that has crossed oceans and is ready to do so again. She is set up for single handed, previous senior owner travelled around Australia for 7 years on his own. Has just gone through an extensive 5 month refit costing around $100k by Master Mariner/ Marine Engineer utilising many trades along the way. I bought her in early May thinking I would get her back to WA around the top this year but everything took longer than I thought and wanted to be thorough and now time has run out due to cyclone season approaching.
If you are looking for a comfortable large volume cruiser that you can stay off grid for long periods of time with multiple backup systems if things go wrong and most of the hard work is done than she is well worth a look. Comes fuelled up with many spares, new tools, new fishing gear, all new manchester if wanted and stocked with non perishable food.
Nauticat have a somewhat fanatical following overseas (not many make it to Australia, I have seen 3 Nauticat 44's for sale in Australia in the last 8 years) would suit someone looking for a more affordable option than a Buizen.
Had to put a rego expiry date for ad to work but there is no expiry dates for Australian registered ships just a $440 fee to transfer ownership, no stamp duty either which is nice.
