Dreamtime is a superb example of the Nantucket Island 33 designed by Peter Cole and manufactured by Comprador Yachts, Sydney, NSW. The boat was designed with both leisure and blue water sailing capability in mind and this goal was certainly achieved. The boat layout is deceptive and she gets lots of nice comments from fellow yachties who are amazed that the yacht always looks larger than her stated 33 ft length and is so roomy below. The flush deck offers uncluttered working space at sea, and additional relaxing space in good weather at anchor. The large centre cockpit with the dodger offers security and protection to crew under sail and the pulpit has a great teak seat which is a special place to be whilst underway.
Below decks are two significant accomodation cabins and the large open main cabin interior with teak joinery, in good condition. Three hatches, a forward dorade, an aft solar vent, ten opening ports and three fans provide plenty of ventilation. All berths are over 6'3" in length.
The guest room is forward in the V Berth, and has storage compartments adjacent to and underneath the bedding. There is a privacy door screening from the main cabin. The owners cabin is aft and features a large double berth, privacy door, hanging locker, opening ports and hatch to insure ventilation and plenty of storage. Adjacent and to the starboard side is a head, with mirror, vanity, pressure water, portable shower and plenty of ventilation. On the port side of the main cabin the port is a good sized with stove refrigeration large sink and storage. Opposite on the starboard side is the navigation station with plenty of room for navigation electronics and other items.
The main salon has a U-shaped dinette to port which can be made into a third double bunk. Across and to the starboard is a straight settee. This main cabin areas is light and airy with opening ports and large deck hatches.
I have owned Dreamtime for 5 years, during that time and whilst sailing her on an almost weekly basis, she has undergone a signifcant upgrade program. Some of the details are provided below and a more detailed maintenance and inventory document is available on request. I have set her up to be easily sailed solo. She handles extremely well in a range of sea states and wind conditions. She is a very strong and capable vessel and I have always felt safe even in challenging moments under sail. Dreamtime has been setup for significant blue water passaging and to this point in addition to the autopilot she also has a self steering rudder type windvane (ProVane) installed. This works extremely well at steering the boat in a wide range of conditions and of course uses no precious DC energy. You can see this in operation in the video links provided.
Dreamtime is a turn key sailing opportunity perfect for leisure or blue water sailing, she is ready to step aboard and sail now.
