Description: Mottle 820 Wheel Steering, strong construction
Are you looking to start sailing a great, strong yacht soon - if so, read on.
ZooZee is a strong, sea-worthy, comfortable yacht - ready for multi-day sailing or coastal cruising. Please see ZooZee's name plate at REFUGE COVE, as she is built strong to sail in Bass Strait.
ZooZee's hull and deck are fibreglassed together as one, with supports for the rigging built into the hull, providing exceptional strength and seaworthiness, not seen in other designs. This exceptionally strong construction is shown in the photos.
ZooZee features wheel-steering, new roller furling headsail, very good condition mainsail with zip-up boom sailing bag, plough anchor and chain. All rigging and spares are in good condition, as are the hull, rudder and deck, without any issues. Antifouling was done in May 2023.
ZooZee's interior is outstanding in her class, with well upholstered main-cabin side berths and a fore peak big enough for a couple, with a hatch opening onto the foredeck, as well as a quarter berth.
The galley features a sink, water tap with ample water storage and plenty of pantry storage with three cupboard doors.
The companionway is made of lightly tinted perspex, allowing vision between the cockpit and interior and more natural light.
Two batteries, which show green on their condition indicators, are charged by stern-mounted solar panels. The interior has six bright LED lights. A candle lantern provides charming ambience.
The inboard diesel engine is a Yanmar YSM8 (8HP, single cylinder) and an outboard motor bracket has been placed on the stern. An outboard can be added as an auxiliary or also to power a tender.
ZooZee is currently at the Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron in St Kilda. Should you wish, sponsorship for RMYS membership could be arranged.
ZooZoo has no financial encumberance.
Purchase with confidence from an RMYS member, with paperwork signed and witnessed in front of the office staff.
ZooZee is the perfect yacht to enjoy days of confident sailing and comfortable nights in her spacious, uncluttered, well thought out interior. Ladies will appreciate her domesticity, including a fully enclosed restroom.
ZooZee is in use and new refinements are being added, so the price will not decrease.
ZooZee can be solo-sailed and is the perfect weekend-away yacht, for the price.
A well located Williamstown swing mooring with new chain, rope, swivel and buoy (August 2024) is available for $2000, as an option.
My other yacht is a much bigger, heavier, complex offshore yacht, registered as an Australian ship for overseas voyages, and requires crew members.
You could soon be enjoying bay sailing Zoo Zee, or even cruising her around Bass Strait.
I am looking for a good new home for a boat I love.
