"Argonaut of Melbourne" presents an exceptional value for money, high-volume blue water cruising package. U. K. Designed and built, this Majestic 60 offers great accommodation and massive interior volume with excellent quality. Specified as a complete cruising package, this vessel is well-equipped for extended blue water voyages.
Deck space is abundant with a great open area on the aft deck, shaded by a pair of biminis that house the 5 solar panels. A pair of aft seats to each side complement the space while a dinghy davit system for the Highfield tender is mounted centrally. Below is a great storage area, serving as an aft lazarette. The cockpit and helm area is well equipped with a range of Raymarine instruments, electric winches, and seating for approximately 6, all in a fully enclosed space thanks to a series of configurable clears, making it possible to open fully.
The saloon below is enormous, and fully airconditioned/heated with a large settee and dining table to port and a pair of separated lounge seats to starboard while the well-equipped nav station completes the starboard side of the saloon. With access from behind the nav station, a twin bunk cabin sits to starboard, however, is being used as an excellent storage/workshop space.
The galley is positioned to the port side, immediately aft of the large saloon settee, easily servicing this area. The area is well thought out with twin opposing bench spaces, both inboard and outboard, and well equipped with twin stainless-steel sinks, an electric cooktop, oven and microwave. Refrigeration space is taken care of by a large built-in unit, plus a bar fridge. A brilliant 1500L of water is carried onboard, while a Seawater Pro desalination system produces 240L of water per hour.
Moving further towards the stern past the galley is the enormous aft mast cabin, with a full walk-around double bed, masses of floor space and storage. This aft cabin is serviced by a fully equipped ensuite with a separate shower compartment.
Moving forward, the engine room is located centrally underneath the main deck access, fitted with a NEW 2019 Yanmar 200hp engine, and is presenting in excellent condition. With access from both sides, the mechanicals are easily serviceable. A Kohler 9KW generator sits to the aft of the main engine, with access available to each side.
The forward accommodation area is expansive, with a twin bunk cabin immediately to port and a double VIP guest cabin in the bow with full walk-around access. A full head services both cabins and is situated to the starboard side with a separate shower compartment.
This true blue water cruiser is an exceptionally capable package with a wonderfully spacious interior and quality British craftsmanship. With some great upgrades including its repower in 2019, Argonaut of Melbourne is exceptional value for money.
