Lightwave 45 SP

UNDER CONTRACT - ANOTHER WANTED!!

Karanga (Maori for Welcome) is Australian designed and built and we sold her as a new build in 2006 to the original owner who owned and maintained her "no expense spared" for fifteen years. Present owners purchased her three years ago and after an upgrade they cruised the Barrier reef, Pacific Islands, NZ, and Tasmania.

Her powerful rig, supported by dyform stainless steel standing rigging, is both lighter and stronger. Karanga's performance is impressive with 800mm plus bridge deck clearance, a top of the range North 3Di Ocean mainsail managed by an Andersen 52 ST stainless steel electric winch, North carbon laminate genoa and North carbon laminate code 0/ screecher. She is set up to endure harsh ocean conditions without compromising on light air performance.

When the sails are down the 50hp Volvo Penta engines provide excellent, quiet propulsion via the sail drives and 3-bladed Volvo folding props. Maintenance on the low hour motors is a joy, in the clean and spacious engine rooms.

The Lightwave 45 offers an excellent raised helm position, fully protected from the elements and offering 360 visibility, all without isolating the skipper from the rest of the area. The lovely, open sugar scoops offer easy boarding and seamlessly lead into the spacious cockpit area, laid with an attractive and comfortable synthetic FlexiTeak floor.

The cockpit area has an extended hardtop and offers full weather protection from the elements on all sides. The seating accommodates six comfortably, entertained by music from the Fusion stereo and outside speakers, sipping cold drinks from the handy cockpit fridge.

Karanga features a 3 cabin layout with additional single berth, creating comfortable accommodation for 7. All cabins have ample lighting and excellent airflow from forward facing hatches with blinds and insect screens. Each cabin is also fitted with Sirocco II quiet fans.

Fully equipped and fine tuned for liveaboard, Karanga has 500amps of lithium ion phosphate batteries with an additional 100 amp hour AGM aux/backup battery, charged by an impressive 2000 watts of solar. There is also a Mark Grasser 250 amp alternator on the starboard engine.

Life on Karanga is not only safe and comfortable but also, easy. Enjoy the 12 volt electric dinghy davit system, 60L Sigmar Marine hot water system, 140 litre/hour AC watermaker, Cel/Fi Go cellular signal booster, Garmin hydraulic autopilot with a separate remote control, AIS & so much more.

The hulls were sanded back last year and re-coated with 3 layers of top quality ablative Jotun SeaQuantum Ultra S.

Meticulously maintained by her current owners, well set up with quality systems and capable of taking you wherever you desire... Karanga is a must to inspect.
