Suelan was professionally built by Henderson Marine in Fremantle with no expense spared. Suelan was designed and built to compete in the very competitive offshore racing scene in the 1990, s. Suelan competed in two Sydney/ Hobart's in 1990 and 1992, achieving 11th place overall on both occasions. She subsequently raced for many years out of Port Adelaide. She is particularly well known in the Port Adelaide and Port Lincoln areas.
I have owned Suelan for 19 years. She cruised and raced out of the Royal Geelong Yacht club for 14 years then relocated to Port Fairy to race and cruise in the offshore racing scene in South West Victoria.
In 2022 I sailed up the east coast to Mooloolaba for the winter. My return trip back to Port Fairy was sailed single handed.
Over our period of ownership, Suelan has been converted to a very user friendly, cruiser racer. The fixed dodger keeps the crew dry and comfortable, even in Southern Ocean racing conditions. She is a very capable single handed or short handed racing or cruising boat, with huge accomodation. I have lived on Suelan for 5 of the years I have owned her.
