Description: J Boats J/24 EXCELLENT CONDITION, BIG PRICE DROP, MUST SELL
Due to a change in the syndicate owning this boat, it must be sold, now at a giveaway price!!!
With over 5,500 built, the J/24 is recognised as the most successful one design class ever launched. Having attracted sailors the world over for over 40 years, it boast a combination of exciting performance, true one-design racing, and a well run class organisation. These vessels are now extensively utilised as the ideal first keel boat for those stepping up from dinghy classes, safe and stable training vessels for sailing schools, and fit in well to any fleet for twilight and social races. This vessel is an exceptional example of the design. One of the last built, it was very competitive in the one design fleet, and is below minimum weight (5kg lead corrector in place). The vessel was lightly used and dry sailed up until December 2022 when the current highly experienced owners sanded and epoxy coated the hull before antifouling it to allow it to live in the water for weekly mixed fleet racing. To further add to its ease of use they have also added a boom bag with lazy jacks, added a reef to the main, and a No. 4 Jib, ideal for Hobart conditions. Having won both the Summer and Autumn mid-week series, this competitive vessel is ready to put a new owner on the podium!
The current owners have further improved the vessel with the following additions in 2022: NEW UNIDEN VHF HAND HELD RADIO, NEW FIRST AID KIT, NEW LIFE RING, NEW FIRER EXTINGUISHER, NEW MAST HEAD WIND INDICATOR, NEW ACRYLIC WASHBOARDS, and RE-VARNISH OF THE INTERIOR TIMBER TRIMS. The vessel also includes a TacTic Micro Compass, rig tension gauge, hatch covers, and quality running rigging.
This vessel is powered by a Suzuki 4HP 2 stroke outboard. This was extensively serviced in DEC 2022. Including a NEW CARBURETTOR, NEW FILTERS, NEW IMPELLER, AND NEW SPARK PLUG. This provides easy and reliable cruising at 5 knots.
Whether you are looking for a first yacht, or a fun and competitive racer at an economical price, this J/24 simply ticks all the boxes! With an immaculate hull, gleaming topsides, and freshly varnished interior, it is ready to be enjoyed and sure to impress! For more information please call Jo Breen on
