Halmatic 30 "Liskeard Lady"
This rare Halmatic 30 is a fantastic, safe and very comfortable cruising yacht. It is a very sturdy long keel cruiser with a transom hung rudder, designed by John Sharp. The Halmatic 30 is an excellent example of British design and high quality construction.
Liskeard Lady was launched in 1984, she was built to Lloyds specifications by Halmatic, the contracted fibreglass boatbuilders to the British Navy. She has a Lloyd inspection certificate. Nearly 300 Halmatic 30's and the later version, the Barbican 30, have been built in the UK, one of the last production runs of fibreglass full keel sailboats. Extensive original documentation available to the purchaser.
She was designed to sit in drying harbours on the UK coast and the full length keel extends to protect her rudder. A Draft of less than 1.5 m is a plus for cruising and she has additional hull reinforcement forward below the waterline, Her hull is epoxy sealed.
A classic Yacht with many recent upgrades. This is a unique vessel ( the only one in Australia) and represents very good value for safe family cruising or compact offshore sailing.
The interior is fitted out with Huon pine, celery top pine and cedar.
We have been owning her for ten years, sailed up to Queensland and around Tasmania but now it is time for a new adventurous owner.
She is fitted with a 3 YM Yanmar 30 hp diesel engine, has an Aries wind vane and comes with a nesting fibreglass dinghy.
The boat has been regularly slipped in the last 10 years with several upgrades:
- new gas lines and regulator
new cushion covers right throughout the boat
cedar book shelves
cockpit weather cloth
huon pine cockpit seats and navigation seat
main sail bag with lazy jacks
new batteries, bosch regulator and solar panel installed (5 years ago)
Bimini sun shade set up for the tropics
sturdy rain annex over cockpit
She was last slipped in january 24 when she received a professional paint job, new decal and rego numbers, new anti fouling paint and speed prop, a new manual toilet and new brass fittings for the rudder.
She is currently on a swing mooring in Hobart, Battery point. This mooring could be purchased separately.
LISKEARD LADY is an Australian registered boat.
