Grainger 40 Bluewater Catamaran
Celestial, (formerly Tokyo Express) is a 40-foot Grainger sailing catamaran built in 1997 by Tim Western, the perfect vessel for those looking to live aboard and embark on an unforgettable sailing adventure in Australia or overseas with AMSA and QLD registration.
Whether you're an experienced or beginner sailer, solo or a family, Celestial ticks all the boxes for size, comfort and sailing prowess... With a large single daggerboard she points well to wind!! All sheets can be handled from within the cockpit, making for safe sailing!!
With generous cabins (one king bedroom, a queen and a double ) and an open comfortable interior, Celestial offers the ideal space for extended stays at sea. Fully equipped with all the essentials as we're currently living aboard and fresh back from a trip through the Qld archipelago.
Two 2017 4 stroke 25hp long shaft, high thrust Yamaha outboard engines provide excellent power and efficiency when needed. Add in 300L fuel capacity for peice of mind on big trips!
The catamaran's wide (7m beam) stable hulls provide comfort while sailing, good speed in light winds ensuring smooth voyages even when conditions are challenging. Perfect for those long sails through the spectacular islands of Queensland, sailing south to Tasmania or venturing overseas.
With a well-designed galley, indoor/outdoor showers, Schenker30 watermaker, 300ah lithium house batteries, 3x320w solar panels, 2kva inverter and diesel heater you'll have everything you need for a comfortable, self-sufficient lifestyle while living aboard Celestial.
