Launched 1998 "Zydico " is designed and built to cruise safely and comfortably in the high latitudes and is still well suited for regular ocean cruising. She was built in Belgium by lens marine, fitted out in Germany and rigged in Holland. Sailed in northern latitudes towards the Artic, across the Atlantic, Caribbean, Panama, Pacific, NZ, Qld, Tasmania, and back to Qld. I have sailed this boat in 50kns + and felt completely safe with a sea on the aft quarter and has never once looked like broaching or rounding up. Easy two handed sailing. She is fully insulated with BASF fire retardant panels from the waterline up. Light and airy below with 190cm headroom sleeps 5 comfortably with 2 doubles and one single, the single folds away to a studio/office space, bucket loads of storage space under floor, bunks, and ventilated cupboards. We have never had any issues with mould or damp. Standing below with hydraulic auto pilot on you can still have a full view with wrap around window from the semi-raised flush deck. Every part of fitout can be removed easily for hull checks and maintenance. She carries around 600lts of diesel in the keel and 200 in the day tank under cockpit floor & 660 litres of water. This boat is design to do big miles without having to stop and refill or carry Jerry cans on deck, there is heaps of room to move about without falling over each other, she is practical and a little old school, but easily serviced and maintained when in remote areas by its owner. We have owned "Zydico" since 2003 and it is time for someone else to live on and enjoy like we have. Her rig and deck hardware is all oversized and top quality, the hard dodger will protect from the elements when punching in to a head wind. The cockpit is designed for heavy weather sailing yet still comfortable. This boat runs, reaches, and enjoys windward work without any bad habits, she is easy to steer and tracks well. She is strong and easily handled and will look after all those that sail upon her, if you are after a flash fibreglass boat with a bolt on keel that's built to a price to suit the charter market or weekend sailor then it's probably not the boat for you. But if you want to go on an adventure and or liveabourd in comfort then this is a great boat. Insurance in & out of water survey done this year by professional surveyor, slipped, new antifoul and anodes July '23. Kept in Mooloolaba Marina, cheap to live aboard as well compared to the current real estate rental and house prices at 1200 a month inc power and water plus a small liveabord fee.
