FRANCIS JONES DESIGNED, DON JACKSON BUILT  

The first person to look at this boat bought it, however couldnt raise the finance and so Baranne is back on the market. Baranne is a 31 foot 6 inch sloop designed by English naval architect Francis Jones and built on the eastern shores of Hobart by Don Jackson out of strip planked Huon Pine. She was comissioned in the early 60's to compete in the 1965 Sydney / Hobart which she completed. Baranne has been completely and lovingly restored and has been gracing wooden boat festivals in Victoria and Hobart having recently won the Alan Bandy Trophy for the best performing yacht at the Classic Yacht Association of Australia 2021 Regatta. As you can see from the pictures she is the prized posession of the current owner who lavishes attention on her and not a dollar is spared on anything that needs attention. Baranne does not need a penny spent on her to enjoy as the standing and running rigging was replaced in 2017, the engine was new in 2017 and has only done 370 hours, folding prop, new Raymarine 9 inch charplotter, re wired, new Bull sails in 2020..... The list goes on. She even comes with an inflatable dinghy and Honda 4 stroke outboard. A survey conducted on the 17th October and a complete Hull inspection by one of Victoria's best known wooden boat builders (conducted on the 8th December) is available to serious buyers.
