Eastcoast 31 POPULAR AND CAPABLE CRUISER/RACER!

Designed by the legendary Peter Cole, the Eastcoast 31 has remained a popular and competitive cruiser/racer. Featuring an ample beam, high ballast ratio, and true offshore capability, it provides both safety and comfort in all conditions. The design also proved highly successful winning many major races including the Australian Half Ton Championship, Brisbane-Gladstone, Lord Howe Island, and Half ton division of both the Sydney and Melbourne to Hobart. With this impressive pedigree, these capable vessels have remained highly sort after. They are safe and forgiving enough for a novice sailor to learn the ropes, whilst boasting the performance that even the most discerning sailor will appreciate! This vessel is a good example of the design. Having been sailed down from VIC in 2017, it has since been used as a family cruiser around the stunning waters of Southern Tasmania. The current owner has significantly improved the vessel over the last couple of years including PROFEESSIONAL RE-EPOXY OF THE HULL BELOW THE WATERLINE COSTING $7,000, and NEW 2024 CLEARS IN THE SPRAY DODGER. The 24HP Buhk diesel engine was also professionally overhauled by Hughes Marine in 2021, and was serviced in Oct 2023. Presenting in good condition, this versatile vessel is ready for its next adventure!

Stepping inside, the traditional timber trims and blue upholstery create a warm and welcoming ambiance. To port is a large timber dinette with seating for 8 in comfort on the neatly upholstered settees. The U shaped galley is well set up for preparing meals whilst under way, and features a 2 burner gas stove, large fridge, and stainless steel sink. Opposite is the chart table, complete with VHF Radio and plenty of room for paper charts for the traditional navigator! The main accommodation is forward with a private double v-berth forward. There is a generous single pilot berth starboard, single settee berth, and the dinette converts to an additional double berth when required. With comfortable accommodation for 6 in total, this vessel is ideal for family cruising! The package is complete with private bathroom with toilet and vanity.

On deck, the cockpit is well protected with a large hard bimini with two solar panels to keep the batteries topped up when at anchor. The wheel steering is a great feature of the design, and ideal for a new sailor to learn on. This vessel is easily managed short handed with the furling headsail, and mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks.

This vessel is powered by a 24HP Bukh Diesel Engine. This was removed from the vessel in September 2021 for a complete overhaul, and now presents in excellent condition. Complete with a 2 blade folding prop for low drag, this engine provides easy cruising at 5 knots.

With both its cruising and racing capabilities, this versatile vessel will suit anything from family cruising, twilight racing, offshore racing, or even make a comfortable and economical live-aboard! For more information please call Jo Breen on or John Radonic on .
