Description: Dufour Gib Sea 43 EXCELLENT CONDITION, MANY UPGRADES!
With its superbly designed interior, impressive sailing performance, and offshore capability, it is little wonder why the Gib Sea 43 was awarded Cruising Yacht Of the Year shortly after its launch. Built by the quality Dufour yard, they suit everything from a first family cruiser, social racer, right through to those wanting to fulfil even the most ambitious Bluewater sailing aspirations. This vessel is an excellent example of the design and presents in good condition throughout. Owned by a Marine Industry Professional, it has been well maintained and upgraded including 2018 STANDING RIGGING REPLACED, NEW MAIN AND FURLING HEADSAIL 2018, THE HULL AND KEEL SAND BLASTED AND RE-COATED FOR A SMOOTH FINISH IN 2017, A 20" GORI VARIABLE PITCH FOLDING PROP ADDED IN 2018, the list goes on! As well as local cruising, this vessel has also been a successful competitor in both inshore and offshore racing in Hobart, including winning the challenging Launceston to Hobart race in 2018. Highly equipped with a 3m inflatable tender with 8HP outboard, gas BBQ, symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnakers, and having been freshly antifouled in JULY 2024, this vessel simple ticks all the boxes!
Stepping inside, the golden teak timber trims, white finishes, and extensive natural light creates a warm and welcoming ambience. To starboard is the large dinette, with seating for up to 10 in comfort. This is a great space to entertain, or simply enjoy meals onboard. Opposite is the well appointed in-line galley. Sure to impress the fussiest chef, it features a 2 burner gas stove with oven, huge top loading fridge, stainless steel sink with pressurised H/C water, and excellent bench space. The vessel is also equipped with additional upright Isotherm fridge and freezer in the bunk cabin. The accommodation is ideal for cruising with family and friends. The spacious master cabin is forward, features a generous double v-berth, changing seat, and good storage. This cabin also has a removable wall linking it to the bunk room, creating a master suite to utilise the bunk cabin for storage if desired, with a full bathroom opposite with electric toilet with holding tank, and H/C shower, and vanity. Aft are two private double cabins, with an adjacent guest bathroom to port. For the traditional sailor, the package is complete with a chart table.
Outside, the cockpit is well set up for easy sailing, and relaxing in your favourite anchorage. The twin wheels provide excellent visibility for the skipper, whilst allowing for easy walk through access from the dock or dinghy. The inlaid teak seating is in excellent condition and adds to the luxurious feel of the vessel. This vessel is easily sailed shorthanded with the mainsail in a boom bag with lazy jacks, furling headsail, most lines lead back to the cockpit, and Raymarine autopilot.
This vessel is powered by a 55HP Yanmar Diesel Engine, paired with a quality Gori variable pitch folding prop. This provides easy and economical cruising at 7 knots.
