Description: Crowther 48 Sailing Catamaran
"HOBO" is an exceptional example of a classic Crowther 48. She was professionally constructed by Beach Marine with foam Sandwich GRP laminate and fitted with a custom quality teak interior undertaken by local Sydney based tradespersons.
The vessel was built in an era when craftmanship was at the at forefront of Australian Boatbuilding, the teak joinery is solid and in beautiful condition.
Offered for sale for the very first time, Hobo has been with the same family since its launch.
An extensive refit completed in 2023 including 2 x new Volvo Penta D2-40hp engines, electronic & electrical systems, Solar Panels & management system, batteries, mast / rigging and sail wardrobe has brought the vessel up to date.
Hobo was recently Slipped at Boatworks in April 2024 where the hulls were wet rubbed, re- antifouled, both, rudders removed, and bearings checked and serviced. 3 blades feathering Propellors removed and serviced along with shafts and cutlass bearings for servicing and Volvo seals replaced.
Full engine and generator service undertaken by Douglas Marine in Oct 2024.
This vessel is definitely worth an inspection.
