'Last Dance' is a well-maintained example of the popular Catalina 42. With reports of over 1000 42's being built including the later Mk II, making it one of the most popular yachts in its size range ever. An ideal platform for coastal cruising for novices through to experienced sailors.
Consistent with her era, the central helm is slightly further forward than most newer yachts, which provides comfort and a feeling of increased safety. This also allows for a swim platform that makes boarding from the water far easier.
Side and rear shades can be unrolled when a reprieve from the sun is required, and in combination with the upgraded bimini and dodger the cockpit becomes usable in most weather conditions. Stylish teak accents including the cockpit table and companionway washboards really give 'Last Dance' that classic 'yacht' feeling.
'Last Dance' is a 3 double cabin, two head layout. To port is a lounge and dining table with seating for 4-5 and a navigation table. Opposite is the bench-style galley complete with sink, gas cooktop and oven and chest-style fridge.
Aft to both port and starboard are spacious double berths, much larger than usually seen on yachts this size. The owners have an offset double forward of the living area, and in the bow is the ensuite with separate shower.
Powered by a 50hp Yanmar 4JH2CE it cruises comfortably at 6.5 knots at 2500 RPM, consuming approximately 4 litres of fuel per hour, with a maximum speed of 7 knots estimated. The fuel tank has a capacity of 140 litres, while the water capacity totals 500 litres across four poly tanks.
The current owner has modernised 'Last Dance' in all the right ways, namely the extensive Victron electrical fit-out. 3 x 160ah lithium house batteries, Victron Multiplus inverter/charger, 2 x semi-flexible 125w solar panels and a Victron MPPT charger. LED lights throughout the cabin, the list goes on.
The owner's new vessel has arrived and 'Last Dance' is looking for her new owners.
