Historic racing yacht "Bronzewing" (LOA 35'9").
Built by Ned Jack in Launceston in 1895 this beautiful racing yacht has raced regularly on the Derwent since 1911.
Bronzewing underwent an extensive 12 month restoration in 2014 and is in excellent condition. She was built from Huon and King Billy pine and has been fully re-splined, has a new deck, cockpit, cockpit coamings, floor timbers and gunwales. Complete updated sail inventory includes a Quantum Mainsail, 3 Quantum headsails (for various wind strengths) all in very good condition and 2 fast spinnakers. All the running rigging has been replaced.
Since her relaunch in 2014, Bronzewing has been raced successfully adding many pennants to her illustrious record.
The boat, which has been fastidiously maintained and slipped twice a year, has just been slipped, anti-fouled and repainted ready for the 2024-2025 racing season.
