Racing yacht "Bronzewing" (LOA 35'9").
Built by Ned Jack in Launceston in 1895 this beautiful racing yacht has raced regularly on the Derwent since 1911 and is highly competitive and winning races.
She underwent an extensive 12 month restoration in 2014 and is in excellent condition. Built from Huon and King Billy Pine, the hull has been fully re-splined, has a new deck, cockpit, floor timbers and gunwales. Her complete sail inventory includes a Quantum reefable mainsail, 3 Quantum headsails which are all in very good condition and 2 fast spinnakers.
Bronzewing has been fastidiously maintained and is slipped twice a year. She has just been slipped, anti-fouled and repainted in October for the 2024-2025 racing season.
Extensive history and archive material is included in the sale ie photos, press reports of the original launch, 2 scale models, winning pennants and numerous photos of the restoration.
