The Beneteau Oceanis can set sail for all ports of call around the world with ease. She is a easy to handle both under power and sail, with her wide beam giving excellent stability and her bulb keel offering great performance.
The deck is uncluttered and free of all lines thanks to a false deck which covers the halyards. The main and genoa sheet track are mounted on the coach roof leaving the cockpit and side decks free. She features a furling genoa, and a classic mast replaced in 2007, with lazyjacks and boombag. So she's easy to rig and ideal for short handed sailing.
The Oceanis 351 offers an enormous comfortable and safe cockpit. From the position at the helm, the skipper is able to see any navigational instruments on the console at a glance. The engine control panel, within easy reach, is protected by a plexiglass panel. All is integrated in the cockpit table unit that includes hinged flaps, and an extremely convenient icebox you will wonder how you ever lived without.
The aft seat is hinged, allowing direct access to the transom and to the big bathing platform and a cockpit shower in the transom.
The interior:
Below an extremely large saloon welcomes you, belonging to a much bigger boat. The layout is spacious with a headroom of 6'3". Light and ventilation are assured via fixed ports as well as several opening ports, a large opening hatch and two bright skylights in the coachroof.
To starboard, an attractive large wooden table is surrounded by a comfortable U-Shaped settee. The table can be transformed into a double berth if needed. Across the table to port is a long settee, with the aft end doubling as the seat for a well laid out chart table.
Immediately aft of the chart table, and to port as you come down the companionway, is the galley which fully utilizes the space offered by its location at the maximum beam of the boat. Again, you will be very pleased with the intelligent layout, large working space, and full headroom of 6'3". Twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurized water, gimballed three burner stove with oven, large icebox with 12 volt refrigeration unit and plenty of lockers and deep cupboards. All the ingredients to make your longest cruises more comfortable.
The aft owners cabin is spacious with double berth and plenty of storage space. Reading lights on both sides of the bed and plenty of natural light and ventilation from a hatch, an opening port and a fixed port, make this space comfortable.
The heads have a 6'1" headroom and the one piece moulded compartment makes cleaning easy. A shower, hot and cold pressurized water, and open moulded wet locker are all features that add to making this head very functional and a little luxe.
With a draft of only 5 feet, the Oceanis 351 can explore the most secluded creek. Drop anchor with complete confidence, as the windlass is sunk into the anchor well. And the tilting bow roller make this tricky manoeuvre easy.
All these components added together result in a cruising boat that offers not only ease of handling and spacious living, but also great performance and a joy to sail.
