Flagstaff Marine are proud to present the Beneteau First 44 Perfromance 'Lenny' to the Australian market.
Ordered by her American owner to fulfil his bucket list dream of completing the Transpac and the Rolex Sydney to Hobart, she is now for sale, and available for inspection in Sydney.
With no expense spared in her build and fit out, this boat is a true turnkey offshore racer, with the fantastic interior that Beneteau First Line Yachts are famous for.
The First 44 is a new design for 2023 from Beneteau, and Lenny is hull number six. She is the latest in a long line of spectacularly successful First Yachts, and represents great value to a new boat buyer. With three double cabins, two heads and an L shaped galley, her modern design means she is extremely light and airy and despite her racing pedigree can be cruised in absolute comfort. Clever modern touches abound in her Lorenzo Argento designed interior, such as the transverse dining table that seats six and the large hull windows filling her with light.
In preparing her for offshore racing, Lenny's extremely experienced owner left no stone unturned. Her mast and pole were custom built in high modular carbon by Lorima (famed for building the rigs for the IMOCA and Ultim classes), and she has a full suit of lightly used sails from North Sails.
Her deck gear is all by Harken and she comes with two forestay options; a Facnor FD 310 flatdeck furler for cruising, and a rod forestay with a Harken Carbofoil for racing. All her cordage is by Lancelin, the majority Dyneema, put together by Naos Yachts in California, and a new dyneema backstay with twin Harken hydraulic rams was fitted by Sydney Rigging in December last year. Her clutches were upgraded from new, and she has been fitted with 8 Harken winches to allow kites to be easily run.
Lenny's electronics package is superb. With an H5000 processor and displays, 9 inch Zeus 3s screens at each helm, 12 inch Zeues 3 plotter on mast and a Halo 20+ Radar, she has all the info and displays on could need.
In terms of safety gear, Lenny was certified to Cat 1 to meet Sydney Hobart racing standards and has most equipment included to go racing at cat 1 again.
