Bavaria 42 Cruiser
For sale is my beautiful 2007 Bavaria 42 Cruiser which is just a magnificent yacht to sail on the ocean or river. I have had this yacht since new, buying it in December 2007 and have looked after it since then. It has had regular servicing and anti fouling and general maintenance to ensure it is always in very good condition. The standing rigging was replaced in 2020. This great yacht has spent most of its life at a river yacht club with regular excursions to Busselton and Rottnest Island where it is really enjoyable for living aboard.
It handles very easily with inmast furling with a vertical battened mainsail. This arrangement ensures very good mainsail shape and functions very well. It has a 140 % furling cruising headsail plus a second no 1.5 light weight Mylar headsail which has had very little use. In addition there is a No3 Kevlar headsail which is great for windy conditions and has had some use. There are also two spinnakers for the keen sailor, which make for exciting sailing back from Busselton. There is a large carbon fibre spinnaker pole plus a smaller one for easy sailing with the No 3 headsail.
This yacht has 3 cabins and two heads and a very comfortable saloon for general dining and indoor entertaining. It has 2 refrigerators and a two burner gas cook top and gas oven. The gas installation was upgraded 2 years ago to meet insurance safety requirements.
It is equipped with. Volvo Penta 55 hp diesel engine and a fixed propellor which propels the yacht at 7.5 knots comfortable. There is also a very exotic 3 bladed folding propellor if one wishes to do some racing and minimise the prop drag.

Mast / Rigging
The mast is a Seldon mast with double spreader rig. The standing rig was renewed in 2020. The mast has a tabernackle for lowering the mast if the yacht were to be taken up river.
A Seldon aluminium boom is fitted with a substantial rod kicker to support the boom as required.

There are 2 Electric Lewmar 54 ST 2 speed primary winches plus 2 Lewmar 48 ST secondary cockpit winches and 2 cabin top mounted Lewmar 40 ST winches for halyards, main sheet and main furling, spinnaker and boom topping lift.
