Catamaran 'Badikan' is a good looking, strongly constructed vessel, with world cruising capabilities
Designed and built by leading Darwin boat builder Alister Cross, in calibration with owners.
Styled for tropical - temperate climate cruising, and importantly built tough enough to take the harshest seas.
Launched in 2011, Badikan has had limited use and is presented to the buyer in excellent condition.
Clean underwater lines, dagger board keels, efficient rudder size and shape, all making for good upwind and tacking performance. Stern exit is wide and buoyant to give a strong drive in a following winds - sea way.
Deck gear - mast and rigging of correct size and quality
Built in a controlled, professional environment, with no compromise for material quality.
ATL Composites Australia supplied the West Systems epoxy resins, woven glass mat of correct wight and bias, cores of Divinycel Foam, Pro balsa and Western Red Cedar.
Mast and rigging engineered and supplied by Allyacht Spars, Sails by Saxby - UK Halsey, motors and sail drives by Yanmar Marine.
Hydrive Hydraulic helm
Above the water the look is a combination of European and Australian design.
Clean strong lines, simple and stylish, featuring large cockpit for outdoor living.
The interior follows the overall design of a simple, clean - open look. Upper Main cabin has full 360 view with two opening front windows to have excellent ventilation. The cabin, upper decks and bridge deck are built with a 25 mm thick Divinycel foam core, giving excellent heat and sound insulation.
Cabin to cockpit bulk head has bifold doors and 2 x removable windows through to the large cockpit. Opened all up and you have a great, working, living - party - area, not often found on catamaran of this length.
Interior has good head hight throughout. The fit - out was planned and built to have access to all spaces, making internal hull inspection and new installations a simple job, and with the added benifit of bieng easily cleaned with no hiding holes for unwanted bugs etc.
Fuel and water tanks built to be removable for servicing if needed, thus giving full access to internal hull space.
To sum up Badikan, it is a stong, well built, no fuss world cruising boat, presented to new owner with no HIDDEN PROBLEMS!
