'Lorita Maria' is a superb example of a mid 60's racer. She is remarkably well preserved, ocean capable, and shows the care of a qualified engineer owner. Her pedigree and provenance make her a very desirable boat to enjoy and own. Reasons for this sale are genuine. I really do advise an inspection, and take advantage of all the good work and upkeep already done.
'Lorita Maria' is "Royalty" as far as Australian Yachts. She was built for Norman Rydge and has the unique record of racing the Hobart, the Fastnet, the Bermuda Race and also the Trans Atlantic Race of 65. She remains in extremely sound and strong condition, ready for next adventures.

Accommodation

There are no Q berths and aft is storage from Cockpit. Down the companionway there is a galley with Gas stove and oven to port, a chart and nav area with massive ice box under.
The main salon has a table in centre with drop leaves, 2 x saloon berths which pull out as full size, and also with 2 x outboard pullman sea berths. The enclosed head is located just in front of the main bulkhead and to port. The fwd berth is set up as a double, but the original Vee berth remains in place. A solid bulkhead in front of this berth separates the bow locker.

Good storage, there is an older style but very efficient universal gas stove with burners and oven.

The anchor winch is a Muir. Fully serviced, with 65 metres of chain and a plough anchor located on the bow.

There is adequate safety gear for coastal cruising, including a leased liferaft. Not all gear in in date and suggest and audit at survey.

All electrics and wiring have been renewed over current ownership.

Sail Inventory

Many older sails are included, but working sails of Main, Genoa and # 3, all current and in very good order.

Mast / Rigging

The Mast and rigging were all replaced new by Whales Spar and Minter Rigging in 2015. It is a modern section mast head rig with 2 x spreaders. Winches located on mast, and quality is excellent.

Deck Gear

Many original and custom deck fittings. Genoa sheeting is outboard on bronze tracks with 2 x cars. There are two new hatches, recreated in original style which allow fresh air below. Deck feels very solid and sound. Barient and Lewmar chromed winches. All operating and more than adequate in size and function.
