Cove Water Taxi is looking for a new owner. The current owner plans to retire. The business currently operates out of Sanctuary Cove and Coomera Waters but can be easily transitioned anywhere according to demand and the new owners circumstances. If you are looking to build on an existing marine transport business or wish to have a side-line income cruising around the Gold Coast waterways, this may be for you. Presently covering the Broadwater/Surfers Paradise to the south and north to Horizon Shores/North Stradbroke Island, Cove Water Taxi operates all year round with good returns especially during school and public holiday periods. Other periods of high demand include but not limited to large volume out-door concerts and festivals at Doug Jenning Park (The Spit), Christmas lights cruises and the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show. The operation can easily be run from a phone and an ipad making it suitable for a single operator and ideal in keeping overheads low. The booking system provides total flexability in allowing customers to make their own travel arrangements and is easily modified to suit the time of year and businness model of the operator.
The variety of work that can be expected are tourist transfers to and from South Stradbrole Island, pick ups and drop offs to large yachts and housboats, tradesman and governement workers visiting South Stradbroke Island dwellings and buildings. Transfers to and from Coomera Waters/Sanctuary Cove, local cruises, lunch and dinner transfers to and from Marine Mirage and other water front accessable restaurants.
The sale includes two 5.9 metre vessels, a mono hull, Allison Broadwater, powered by a 2022 (1550hrs) 200hp Suzuki outboard (Survey Class D) (Antifoulded December 2023). The clears, hull and interior are in good condition and the vessel is completly enclosed providing a comfortable, safe and dry interior for guests.
The second vessel is a custom alluminium tri hull with a 2015 (995hrs) 70hp Suzuki outboard (Survey Class E). Antifoulded and engine serviced August 2024. Clears hull and interior in fair condition. Vessel is completly enclosed providing a safe and comfortable service for guests to relax and enjoy the views. An additional advantage with this vessel is the ability to accommodate passengers with restricted mobility with its level side opening doors as well as easy wheelchair access from the front of the vessel.
Both outboards are serviced and maintained by a local Suzuki dealer ensuring transpaency and reliability to meet customer expectations.
The vessels are in survey to carry 12 passengers plus one crew and are in complainace for safety equipment etc to operate commerically in their respective survey class. Included in the sale is the current operating website, Saftey Management System, dedicated phone number, booking system and customer data base. The sale also includes the remaining three month lease on a marina berth at Sanctuary Cove (12m).
The minimum class of license is a Coxswain grade 1 which is easily obtainable from a number of local Gold Coast training providers. Government subsidies may apply for some applicants to obtain this commercial qualification.
