Riviera 58 Enclosed Flybridge Stunning four cabin three bathroom passagemaker

The Riviera 58's were first released in 2002 and slowly evolved into the 60 and then 61 models. At over 64ft LOA they are a mighty beast and yet incredibly easy to handle. They ride beautifully, smoothly lifting up onto the plane with little bow rise. With the helm two levels away from the power plants the engines can hardly be heard. The 58 appears to glide over the water, before you know it you are effortlessly cruising at 22 knots.

Apart from her performance, the stand out with the Riviera 58 is her accommodation and range. Fitted with extra fuel capacity 'True Blue' is built for those long passages and suitably equipped for making the journey through the remote Kimberley region. With four cabins she sleeps 7 in absolute comfort so there is room for family and friends.

Her fully enclosed wheelhouse is equipped with airconditioning and some of the latest Garmin technology - all that is required for comfortable distance cruising. For the local Western Australian boaties, it's not uncommon to see a 56,58 or 61 Riviera anchored in beautiful Parker Point, so while they look big on paper, they are still manoeuvrable and agile enough to get into tight spaces. Vision from the forward helm is excellent while the docking station fitted aft of the wheelhouse make reversing into a berth very easy indeed.

Let's talk about her interior. Adorned with high gloss cherry cabinetry, typical of the Riviera models of the era, cream leather lounges and carpet throughout. Her main saloon is open plan flowing seamlessly to a galley boasting massive Corian servery, eutectic refrigeration and freezer plus below and above benchtop storage cabinets. The galley floor is low maintenance Amtico.

True Blue is equipped with most of the amenities you would have at home including ducted reverse cycle airconditioning and an endless supply of fresh water, in this case from the HRO desalinator. Of course this means nothing if you don't have the capability to power it all. She is equipped with not one but two Onan gensets - the larger being 22.5KVA so plenty of power to run all the aircons when cruising the Kimberley or at Rottnest on the scorching February days.

Down three steps into the accommodation wing and to port is the master cabin. She features an island berth with ensuite and walk-in robe. Lift the bed base to reveal an easily accessible storage compartment ideal for spare parts. Opposite and to starboard you have the fourth cabin with single berth plus washer and dryer. Ahead of this is the shared 'Day-head' leading onto cabin three with single 'adult size' bunk beds. Up in the bow is the guest stateroom - again with island double and private ensuite. (Note: The fourth cabin also makes a fantastic store room for those long passages where you require extra supplies and spares)

The rear deck is fitted with solid teak flooring beneath which is ample below deck storage. Drop down breezeway shades encapsulate the entire cockpit making it more usable in the tropics. Step through to the transom door to the swimboard where the brand new teak floor gleams. Stainless steel rails mounted to the outer edge make this space safer and more user friendly for light tackle fishing at anchor, or even just for grabbing when stepping into and from the tender.

Access to the bow is down either side of the superstructure using the generous amount of hand rails. Here sits a 4.2m Zodiac RIB which is launched and retrieved with a hydraulic Opacmare davit system.

ASll in all the Riviera 58/60 is the perfect boat for someone wanting to comfortably accommodate a larger family in a space which is virtually a floating apartment but still able to coastal cruise around Australia if adventure is your passion.
