"Samantha", originally known as "Chagford", is a beautiful Griffin classic, launched on Pittwater in 1961 and still in lovely condition. She is powered by her original Detroit 453 twin diesels which give her an easy 8 knots at around 1200 rpm. Her nearly 13 feet of beam provide huge entertaining spaces in the saloon and cockpit, plus generous accommodation downstairs where you find the galley and double cabin. The adjacent bathroom is newly renovated with tiling and separate shower. Owner of 11 years has been diligent in maintenance and ongoing improvements including:
- port engine bench rebuild 2016 and starboard engine head recoed
- replacement of all covers and new full window covers
- LED lighting throughout
- rewire of all 12v wiring
- provision of certified 240v shorepower
- Smart TV and Fusion sound system
- Excellent maintenance of brightwork and paintwork
"Samantha" is a great example of the '60's style in leisure boating. She has been a delight for her current owners but needs a new home.
NB Just slipped for annuals including hull recoat (March 2024).
