Fair Wind is a beautifully restored, classic 52' timber ex-trawler, built by the renowned Gillies in 1981, and is now available for sale after extensive upgrades and repairs. Fairwind had a comprehensive overhaul in 2022/23. The hull is in excellent condition with no rot or worm and it was last antifouled and anode replaced earlier this year. The hull is constructed in the traditional timber plank-on-frame carvel style and was also re-corked during the overhaul.
The complete deck was fully upgraded with all new plywood sheets laid over the 50mm timbers and 2 layers of fiberglass along with primer and deck paint.

Powered by a Cummins 855 Turbo (261 kW), the engine runs smoothly and was serviced last year.
A new electrical panel was installed, along with improvements allowing the engine to be started directly from the engine room.

New head, freshwater pump and hot water heater were installed, along with additional electrical and plumbing upgrades.
Modest freshwater and sullage capacity.
