"Jersey" is an attractive, all fibreglass weekender which has been extensively upgraded in the last six years.
This is the later model Mark III version with aluminium windows and the larger 120 hp 6 cylinder Ford diesel engine. This engine famously delivers exceptional "one litre per nautical mile" fuel economy compared to higher reving engines that use 2 or even 3 litres per nautical mile. Fitted with dual station Simrad autopilot, Simrad VHF radio with built in GPS and AIS receiver linked to a cordless Simrad radio in the flybridge, this is an affordable boat with modern additions to make bay cruising a real pleasure. An important upgrade is the Vetus bowthruster which allows for close manoeuvring into tight berths. Renewable power comes from two large photovoltaic cells mounted on the rear davits linked to a bank of three, new, large deep cycle house batteries and an oversized 3000 watt inverter. This can power an espresso coffee machine, microwave, rice cooker etc without the noise and inconvenience of a generator. In the galley, there is a gas-powered two burner stove, grill and oven which allows for home-style cooking. There is a smart TV with powered omni-directional antenna along with a Blueray CD, quality Bluetooth stereo with 4 speakers in the saloon and two in the flybridge.
Clipper 34's are keenly sought after as they offer two cabins and two bathrooms, both with shower and toilet. Great for taking friends out for a weekend away. The forward VIP cabin can be converted to a double but single bunks make for ease of access without disturbing your partner. The rear Master cabin provides for much quieter and smoother sleeping quarters than on other boats of this size. Each bunk (king single size) is supplied with USB outlets and a Calframo fan. The flybridge is entertainment central with a large table, marine BBQ and seating for 8, more than enough room to invite friends from neighbouring boats to come for sundowners and stay on for dinner. Finally, Jersey comes with an inflatable dingy on rear davits with a Honda outboard, a light-weight unit, essential for going ashore at low tide.
Remarks
Annual haul out inspections indicate that the hull condition is excellent with no osmosis detected. The hull above water has been recently repainted as has the deck following removal of the teak decking. The desirable teak gunwales remain as does extensive use of teak in the cabins, saloon and galley.
Despite the boat being in overall sound condition there are a few outstanding maintenance items to consider. The rear main engine seal is leaking and needs replacing. The bimini fabric and flybridge carpet need replacing. This has been factored into the asking price.
This is a regretful sale, due to competing interests, the owner has insufficient time to enjoy this beautiful boat. Many people have speed boats that wizz about but it is only when you can stay comfortably on board overnight, watching the sunsets, dugongs, dolphins and sea eagles that you really appreciate the extraordinary wilderness that awaits you in Moreton Bay.
"Jersey" has a rented berth at Wynnum Manly Yacht Club with convenient access from the secure car park. The berth owner is willing to continue the lease with the purchaser, if required. Berths are otherwise not easy to procure in SE Qld.
