Alexander Marine are pleased to present the 2004 Cabo 40 Express 'Best Catch II' to the market as central agents.
Stepping into the generously sized cockpit via a sizable marlin door on the starboard side of 'Best Catch ll', it's clear this vessel is the ultimate angler's weapon. The marlin door is a two-piece arrangement with a hinged top combing for ease of access to the water. Across the transom a centrally mounted 180-liter moulded-in transom live well will come in handy. Under the cockpit sole two large underfloor fishboxes are installed to port and starboard complete with macerator pumps - the port-side fishbox being fitted with plumbed crushed ice from an ice chipper to keep the catch or drinks cool. At the forward section of the spacious cockpit, you'll find a large bait-prep centre equipped with a rigging board, freezer, ample tackle storage, and convenient icebox providing an efficient workspace and to keep the crew hydrated. This 100-square-foot space is fully equipped and ready for fishing including a Pompanette 130lb game chair. Fresh and saltwater washdowns are on hand to clean up this area be that from fishing or general entertaining.
Entry up to the slightly elevated helm deck is located on the starboard side. The beauty of the express layout lies in the helm deck's proximity to the cockpit, creating a more social atmosphere on board and remaining close to the action going on in the water. A centre-mounted helm, equipped with an upgraded Furuno navigation package including GPS Plotter, Sounder, open array Radar & Autopilot. The starboard-side companionway down to the lower deck accommodation makes for an efficient use of space, ensuring the captain remains at the centre of activity, whether fishing or socialising. Behind the two Stidd helm chairs on the port side is a spacious L-shaped lounge with storage underneath, while the starboard side features a longitudinal tackle locker and extra counter space. 'Best Catch II' is also fitted with double-spreader PipeWelder outriggers and a PipeWelders anodized aluminum tuna tower.
Below deck, the forward stateroom offers an island berth with storage underneath. Full-length rod storage along the outboard walls of the master cabin efficiently uses space that is often overlooked. The spacious port-side galley is fitted with high-end appliances, while opposite, on the starboard side, is an L-shaped leather lounge dining area set around a solid teak table. Above the dining area, you'll find vented pigeon-hole lockers, and beside it, a cupboard for vertical rod and reel storage. Ingeniously, the dining area can be easily converted into Pullman-style bunk accommodations for two. A full-size head with a separate shower stall is located along the aft bulkhead of the cabin.
Powered by a pair of low-hour MAN 700hp diesel engines located beneath the helm, with the entire "floating floor" being hydraulically lifted for exceptional access and visibility to the engine bay. The vessel is also equipped with a Westerbeke 12.5 KVA generator to power the vessel away from the dock including her previously mentioned ice chipper, Webasto air conditioning, and Sea Recovery water maker to keep you at sea longer. Practical specification items include a Reverso oil change system, and an engine-driven bilge pump for emergencies.
'Best Catch II' has enjoyed constant upgrades under her current ownership. She is blue-water ready and like her sisterships is a formidable offshore fishing machine.
