The Bertram 45 needs no introduction - They are one of the most sort after brands in Western Australia
Suitably equipped for Abrolhos trips or simply days or weeks away at Rottnest, 'Amber ' has been well loved by her current and previous owners. She was delivered new into WA where she was extended from 42 to 45ft producing a sensational teak laid rear entertainment area.
Internally she boasts the standard Bertram/Caribbean layout with forward tournament style berths and a master cabin to port with ensuite. A large galley to starboard features the eutectic refrigeration system, characteristic of most Bertrams of the era. Her saloon is engulfed by light from massive opening side windows. The interior upholstery is in excellent condition and compliment by freshly installed and practical Aquasmart Hybrid flooring.
An array of Garmin navigation equipment is all relatively new. A regular maintenance regime and great service records for the 6V69 GM Detroit diesel engines is available. The engine room itself is extremely tidy, out of the ordinary really for a vessel of this age. On ignition the Detroits start immediately with barely a puff of smoke - a sign of good compression. Amber comfortably cruises at 18 knots and despite the reputation of the GM's, she is remarkably quiet.
A 3.5m Highfield aluminium RIB is stored above the cockpit and easily launched and retrieved via a custom stainless steel electric davit system. This is powered by a 15HP outboard so plenty of power to get you to that favourite dive site.
Her flybridge clears are relatively new as are a full set of cockpit Breezeway camper covers which create an amazing alfresco style outdoor area protected from the sun, wind and bugs.
Amber has achieved many Abrolhos adventures, two with her current owners. She is equipped with all of the important things such as a recently replaced Onan generator with just 688 hours on the clock. This will power a dive compressor if required, the onboard desalinator and all of your home comforts. With 3,700L of fuel there is plenty of range to cruise our vast coast.
In recent years I have had the pleasure of selling many Bertrams and Caribbeans and Amber is a fine example.
