Often when listing a newish houseboat with a slightly different name, I like to find out the story behind the name from the owner as this can often help me understand the motivation, design and layout of the houseboat.
Chattahoochee is a river in the USA which flows from northern Georgia to Alabama and Florida. It passes through some very picturesque country not dissimilar to Lake Eildon.
Then there is the 1993 Alan Jackson award winning song Chattahoochee with the lyrics: - "Yeah, way down yonder on the Chattahoochee; Never knew how much that muddy water meant to me; But I learned how to swim and I learned who I was; A lot about livin' and a little 'bout love. "
This helps understand the motivation for the design and layout for the houseboat, Chattahoochee.
At the Water Level, she is all open plan living with large, tall, tinted windows to embrace the magnificent scenery; cosy up on the couch in front of the gas log fire; have a coffee at the wonderful kitchen servery; then there is the feature rear living area with sliding glass walls and the rear full width electric blind.
Imagine relaxing here on the couch or bean bags taking in the views and watching the kids learn to swim, water ski or wake surf. This is a lot about livin and a little bout love of great times with your family as they grow up with you.
At water level, where all the action happens on the water, Chattahoochee is very much about family times together.
The First Storey Level is about quieter times with four bedrooms including Master with rear view, parents retreat, and full ensuite. An excellent design feature is a lounge for the younger generation to relax on the couch and watch their favourite TV shows or play their games.
On the Top Deck, you feel you are on top of the world. Relax in the sun or enjoy a casual sip of your favourite as you watch a magnificent sunset followed by a brilliant full moon rising over the mountains.
Chattahoochee was built by long standing very reputable professional houseboat builder The Houseboat Factory (Raaymakers) in 2023; she is like new.
Chattahoochee has all the latest Solar Electric Technology with a very large Victron Energy Multi-Plus 10,000watt Inverter/Charger System; a large bank of Lithium Batteries; over 20 Solar Panels and all backed up by a large quality 11kva diesel Onan Generator. She has plenty of power.
Chattahoochee is powered by a Mercruiser 250 4.5lt Motor with very few hours on the clock. Importantly, there are front and rear thrusters to enable manoeuvrability.
Chattahoochee ticks so many boxes as a quality modern family holiday home on the water and is a lot about livin and a little bout love.
