"Miss Carmen" was built by Mill Kraft Designers and Builders in 1969 in Brisbane as a typical Queensland prawn trawler.
She was less than 6 years old when sold to South Australian owners. She has spent time in WA as well (Esperance) and then moved to Tasmania where she is currently located.
The "Miss Carmen" has a very rich history in Australia and over the last 12-18 months has has a full overhaul and overall she is in very good condition for her age (1969).
She would make the perfect cruising motor launch as she has great sea keeping capabilities and would also make for a perfect "liveaboard" as she has plenty of room.
She is a rare heavy displacement motor cruiser with a wide-beam, flared bows and high topsides which makes her very comfortable for the crew at sea, whilst the Caterpillar 6 Cylinder diesel ticks along effortlessly and economically.
She has a functional galley in the wheel house as well as a master cabin with further bunks down below. There is external access to the WC (toilet / shower and sink) and loads of room aft of the cabin that could quite easily be extended if desired.
The aft cockpit area has plenty of room. Most of this area is undercover as there is a stainless steel framed area with a hard roof and clears on the sides. There is a HIAB deck crane aft as well as a vice on the sampson post.
The area forward that joins the cabin has a great bench space, stainless steel sink, fridge and cupboards.
She is fitted with all new batteries and both engines are fully serviced with only 2 hours running time since serviced. Miss Carmen is also equipped with all the necessary safety gear including epirb, flares, fire extinguisher, etc.
Up forward there is a hydraulic anchor windlass as well as a separate drum winch (Deep Sea Morris) with rope and chain (and anchor).
Don't miss this rare opportunity to purchase a piece of maritime history as well as a very comfortable cruising boat.
