The 16.1 metre high-speed aluminium "SEABUS" CTV was built in 2013 by Fine Entry Marine of Geraldton. This multihull designed catamaran has a beam of 5.6 metres so even at a top speed of 30 knots and a cruising speed of 25 knots vessel is extremely stable, handling swells and rougher seas very well. The draft of 0.65 metres allows the vessel to work in shallow waters.
The vessel is powered by twin MAN marine V12 2D2862 diesel engines that produce 749kW @ 2100 RPM with auxiliary power provided by dual Isuzu diesel Generators producing 22kVA output. The vessel uses twin Hamilton 422 Waterjets to provides highly efficient propulsion for high-speed marine operations.
The SEABUS comes equipped with VHF & SSB radios, Radar, Echo Sounder and GPS positioning, and provides comfortable seating for 36 passengers in a fully enclosed air-conditioned cabin complete with toilet facilities. A large 5x5m rear back deck provides a generous space for cargo transfer or hydrographic survey equipment. The vessel also has a 1x1m moonpool and electric winch transducer mount.
The SEABUS is 1B AMSA registered (commercial passenger vessel operating within 200Nm) and is not due for the next out of water survey until June 2027. The vessel has been regularly and extensively maintained and will come with a long list of spare parts.
