Suit emerging small ship / expedition market for accessing shallower waters.
HISTORY
MV Reef Endeavour was built at the Fiji Government dockyard, Suva Fiji and was the first ship to cruise the Great Barrier Reef as an attraction in 1996. Initially built for a joint venture between Captain Cook Cruises and Qantas, she was later purchased from the joint venture by Captain Cook Cruises and transferred to Fiji. Operating as a tourism icon around the Fiji Islands exploring the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands every week and Vanua Levu once a month. What makes "Reef Endeavour" unique, is her small size and shallow draft allowing her to reach remote reefs, islands and shallow bays, where bigger ships cannot access. Her design blends big ship function and features, whilst maintaining boutique personal feel. These features include a pool, spa, and an embarkation platform allowing access and storage for smaller boats.
2016 refurbishment and dry dock reduced number of cabins and passengers to create suites as well as upgrades to cosmetic and onboard systems.
Facilities include
Fresh water swimming pool, spa pool on sun deck, sun deck, and mini gym,
glass-bottomed boat, snorkelling and dive vessels, two bars, two crew mess,
two lounges and single sitting dining saloon, gift shop, chart house, library with
TV, 2 laundries (commercial and guest), lift from D Deck to sun deck, hydraulic
platform on the stern of the ship for easy access. Commercial Galley and coolrooms.
