Sport Meets Leisure
Gulf Craft's Sports Cruiser range has released the new Oryx 379 and we have in Sydney available for immediate delivery. Hull #22 is coming to Sydney in 2023 and is offered exclusively for sale through Flagship International and Australian Superyachts. With the momentum in the Australian Market moving towards bigger and better dayboats with overnighting capabilities, the Oryx 379 is sure to make waves upon its Australian Debut. Deck for Days
The volume once onboard is almost an optical illusion. Her expansive sunbed aft perfectly adjoins the wrap-around seating at the cockpit table. The finish and quality of the materials used are akin to those found on the Superyachts the Gulf Craft yard is known for. Walk-around decks allow easy access to the sunbed and "love seat" at the bow and ensure safety for kids and anglers alike when moving around the vessel. The twin shock-absorbing helm seats are perfectly positioned for a comfortable ride up and down the coast or can be swivelled aft towards the cockpit when relaxing at anchor.
Perfect Weekender
One would be forgiven for thinking this high-performance sports cruiser only serves a day boating purpose but once you explore down below you realise this is a family cruiser capable of some fantastic family nights onboard. Hull #22 arriving in August has the "layout 2" option which gives her a forward private cabin and island bed, separate bathroom and head, a galley with a fridge, hotplate, microwave and sink, a settee that can be converted into an additional bed as well as another double bed midships. All in airconditioned comfort, airy natural light and modern fit-out delivering the best of style, function and performance for the whole family to enjoy.
Packs a Punch
44 knots isn't surprising given hull#22 is fitted with triple Mercury 300hp outboards but what is surprising is how well she rides through the water, even at these incredible speeds. The designers gave the 379 a striking near plumb bow which allows for additional volume and style but also give the 379 a longer waterline length which gives you a smoother ride, especially in a short chop which is great for Australian boating. The placement of the outboard engines gives the 379 an incredible amount of storage under the cockpit which houses a 7kw Kohler generator to run the onboard 240v systems including 18,000btu of Air-Con, Electric BBQ in the cockpit, hot water system, battery charger etc. Hull#22 is also fitted with a full electronics package including a 15.6" Raymarine screen, autopilot, radar, transducer, underwater lights, LED strip lighting throughout the cockpit and an upgraded A/V and audio package as well as a bow thruster for easy close-quarter maneuvering, there isn't much more you can put on this weapon.
What we Say
Having had the pleasure of sea trialling a new Oryx 379 in Dubai in Nov 2021, I was immediately blown away. I've watched the day boat trend continue to grow here in Australia and for good reason. They pack the power and amenities of a larger boat and serve the same boating lifestyle all packed into a much smaller package. The growing outboard trend thanks to the power they deliver being able to push larger and larger boats negates the servicing costs that accompany inboard sports cruisers while delivering the same volume. The plumb bow, walk-around decks and hardtop combine to deliver the sporty European style and then add superyacht quality finishes and you have a perfect combo. I'm so excited to have placed the order for the Australian Debut Oryx 379 hull #22 and I'm looking forward to showcasing this incredible sports cruiser to the Australian Market.
