Description: Sasga Yachts Minorchino 34
Sasga Yachts build vessels with origins as far back as the Latin sailing boats that ploughed through the Mediterranan Sea crewed by Phoenicians, Carthaginians and Egyptians. These boats became commonly know as "Llauts".
As far back as the early 19th century, a 30 foot "Llaut" successfully followed Christopher Columbus' example by crossing the Atlantic Ocean to reach the Caribbean Sea.
A long way from these historical beginnings the Sasga Yachts Minorchino boats of today are a luxury yacht - secure, comfortable and technologically advanced - as their design has been adapted to today.
Offering a refreshing alternative to the many 'similar looking' semi-displacement and planning boats, the new Minorchino 34 is built from sandwich composites by Sasga Yachts in Menorca Spain, and has been designed by Barracuda Yacht Design, who took 'retro' inspiration from the renowned sea-keeping and practical nature of centuries old "LlaĆ¼ts" - traditional, multi-chine boats used by Balearic fishermen still today.
The Sasga Yachts Minorchino 34 is an extremely comfortable and versatile 10 metre motor yacht. The Sasga Minorchino 34 offers great living space thanks to the optimized design of the hull with a design emphasis on eliminating dead spaces for maximum live aboard comfort.
Characteristics of the original Llaut design, a plumb bow with high freeboard hull, rounded stern sections and with generous beam width proportions carried almost the entire length of the hull, has resulted in an exceptionally voluminous and useable interior and exterior.
Entered through tall 'patio-style' doors the large main cabin is a spacious saloon and galley combined. Dominated by tall windows and generous head-room, there is superb all round visibility and plenty of natural incoming light. The two place helm position is on the starboard side. Thanks to the wide 3.80 metre beam, the Sasga Minorchino 34's large main cabin features a panoramic galley at this main deck level, a sofa and panoramic club style dining layout that results in the real feeling of on water dining. Importantly the seating can be arranged so that four people can face forwards whilst underway with a panoramic view. As well as the four panoramic side windows the saloon has two overhead opening hatches and wide opening saloon doors to the large cockpit area.
Tasteful, unadorned fabrics for seat cushions and curtains keep the mood calm and relaxing and in-keeping with the confident and calm nature of this pleasant and well built boat. The warm oak timber furniture and timber finishes complete the classical and practical ambience of the boat.
The spaciousness of the boat continues below the main deck saloon where there are two separate sleeping cabins as standard, being the warm and inviting owners cabin with a walk around bed, excellent standing head room, two port holes, two fixed windows and overhead opening hatch. In addition there is a separate guest cabin with two twin beds separated by a night table. A full bathroom with electric toilet and large shower area complete the impressive layout and style of the boat.
Back on deck and outside the cockpit is large with a hard top that shelters the cockpit and a good size aft deck, with more than enough room for outside seating and dining. There is easy wide access to the both side decks for forward movement to the large bow area.
Up on the bow there's plenty of foredeck space with a large sunbathing pad and anywhere on the boat can be easily and swiftly accessed via the 'walk-around' side decks on both sides, with large gunwales and traditional handrails for added protection and safety for children.
A large and practical swim-platform enables easy access for swimming and diving, and around the boat subtle influences, such as a wooden stem post and wooden mast, serve as gentle reminders of the traditional look and feel and relaxing ambience that cannot fail to accompany this boat.
Underway the Sasga Minorchino 34 is easily managed, quiet running and distinctly smooth to handle. Thanks to its hull design the boat has a wide cruising speed of 12 - 19 knots with a top speed of 21 knots depending on Engine Options.
Noise and vibration have been kept down to the bare minimum and both Barracuda Yacht Design and Sasga Yachts have turned this outwardly traditional design into a comfortable, efficient and practical option for today's leisure user.
The Sasga Yachts Minorchino 34 has a CE Certification - A Ocean, which is the highest recreational boat category, designed for extended voyages with winds of over Beaufort Force 8 (over 40 knots), and significant wave heights above 13 feet, but excluding abnormal conditions such as hurricanes.
